Denied F1 Entry - Andretti Sets Sights on NASCAR Glory

Andretti Eyes F1 and NASCAR for Racing World Domination

02/08/2024

Andretti Global pursues both Formula 1 and NASCAR, aiming to establish an unparalleled legacy across major motorsport series worldwide.

Andretti Global, a legendary name in motorsport, is relentlessly pursuing its Formula 1 aspirations while setting sights on NASCAR, aiming to create an unparalleled presence across major racing disciplines.

Though Formula One Management has thus far denied Andretti’s entry, citing concerns about added value, the Andretti team remains undeterred. With a legacy stretching through IndyCar, Formula E, IMSA, and Extreme E, Andretti Global’s ambitions continue to grow.

“We’re unique in participating across so many series,” said JF Thormann, Andretti Global’s President, during a recent season update. “Michael’s vision has always been to bring Andretti into F1, and now NASCAR as well. Completing this journey is central to our mission.”

This potential expansion would position Andretti in action nearly every weekend, amplifying its global brand and keeping fans engaged year-round.

Andretti’s Formula 1 bid was approved by the FIA last year but ultimately stalled when Formula One Management declined, questioning Andretti’s ability to add market value—a claim Thormann firmly dismisses.

“When I wear our logo in public, people recognize it instantly,” Thormann shared. “They ask, ‘Is this Mario’s team? Michael’s?’ The Andretti name is synonymous with hard work and racing history. Mario’s legacy shines through, even on a T-shirt or a polo. It’s an honor to represent that.”

For Andretti, joining F1 and NASCAR isn’t just about expansion—it’s about bringing a storied racing legacy to the pinnacle of global motorsport, reinforcing the Andretti name across every track and series.
