Alpine’s Guidance Key to Doohan’s 2025 F1 Step

Jack Doohan acknowledges Alpine F1’s role in his development, crediting the team’s support as key ahead of his 2025 debut.

Jack Doohan will make his Formula 1 debut this year after competing in just one race at the end of last season. The Alpine F1 driver thanks his team for the support that helped him get closer to the top category.

“It’s great,” said Doohan. “The team has embraced me for a long time. They’ve been very accommodating and helped me a lot. It’s amazing to work with Pierre and constantly learn from him, with his six or seven years of Formula 1 experience.”

“I’m excited to continue on this path and build a strong relationship with him to ensure we are the best pairing for the team this year.”

When asked what teaming up with Gasly will bring him, Doohan joked: “A bit of French, for sure! But also the benefit of his experience, seeing how he approaches race weekends.”

“And not just on a one-off basis like in Abu Dhabi, but throughout the season. I’m eager to learn as much as possible from him while contributing and, hopefully, bouncing off each other to ensure our car is as fast as possible.”

As an F1 rookie this year, Doohan recognizes the significance of this step: “It’s definitely very special. I’ve been watching these guys since I was a kid, especially Lewis [Hamilton].”

“So to come in and be part of the 20 drivers on the grid is very special, and I’m eager to cement my place here for the future. It’s a very special moment for me. I’m thrilled to be part of this, to have spent last week and the beginning of this week with the team, and to have had a great day capturing moments ahead of the season.”
