Alpine F1 Begins Pre-Season Testing at Bahrain International Circuit After Monday’s Shakedown
Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan shared the A525 on the opening day, completing a total of 140 laps (758 kilometers).
Jack Doohan, 14th with a time of 1’31’’841, covered 68 laps in the morning.
“After Monday’s shakedown, it was really enjoyable to get back on track and complete a full morning session with the A525. I had fun behind the wheel and got a feel for different setups and tire compounds. A big thank you to the teams at Enstone and Viry-Châtillon for their work over the winter to prepare the car for these tests. I’ll be supporting the team tomorrow morning, closely following Pierre’s session before getting back in the car in the afternoon to continue our program.”
Pierre Gasly set an encouraging sixth-fastest time of 1’31’’353, completing 72 laps in the afternoon— a much stronger start to testing than in 2024.
“It was a solid day of work despite our session being interrupted by a red flag. It was good to extend the session to complete our program without losing track time. The car immediately performed well, and I’m pleased with the initial feeling at the wheel. Everything worked as expected, and we started exploring different setups, giving us a clear direction for the rest of the week. I’m looking forward to continuing the work tomorrow morning for another productive day with Jack.”
