Alpine F1 continues to face challenges, with the Singapore race highlighting persistent issues and team disappointment.
Alpine F1 experienced a challenging race in Singapore, after which Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly were disheartened. Team director Oliver Oakes gave a disappointing assessment of the weekend but was not surprised, especially following Baku.
“It was a tough race day on track and a repeat of what we had seen in qualifying, in line with the previous two races,” Oakes explained. “We expected to perform better on this type of circuit, but we lacked pace. This is the reality of our current situation.”
The French team still hopes to improve in the remaining races of the season, and the plan is certainly to further develop the A524, which clearly lacks performance.
“There is a lot of work ongoing behind the scenes to bring more performance to the car for the upcoming events. With four weeks until Austin, we need a final push for the home stretch.”
