Alpine F1 endured a disrupted test session as rain hampered progress, limiting Pierre Gasly to just 40 laps in the morning.
Alpine F1 completed 120 laps today during the second day of testing in Bahrain.
In the morning, Pierre Gasly covered 40 laps, while in the afternoon, Jack Doohan accumulated 80 as part of a race simulation.
Gasly set the ninth-fastest time with a 1:30.430, while Doohan finished eighth with a 1:30.368.
Dave Greenwood, the French team’s new Racing Director, provided an end-of-day assessment.
“We managed to complete most of our program today despite tricky conditions, with low ambient and track temperatures as well as persistent strong winds throughout the week.”
“Rain is rare in Bahrain, and we reacted well to adjust our program as conditions evolved. Pierre’s running was affected by the damp track, limiting him to 40 laps in the morning—well below our target—which prevented us from completing certain tests requiring stable conditions.”
“Nevertheless, we carried out useful testing this morning, and he will be back in the car tomorrow afternoon to wrap up these three days. A crucial session awaits us.”
“This afternoon, we focused on race weekend scenarios to help Jack continue his preparation for Melbourne. He will be back in the car tomorrow morning to keep gaining experience and further develop the A525 package.”
