Famin Urges Alpine to Learn from Silverstone Setback

09/07/2024

Bruno Famin stresses the need for Alpine F1 to draw lessons from their challenging weekend at Silverstone, marked by a retirement and a finish at the back of the grid.

Bruno Famin acknowledged that Alpine F1 had a very challenging weekend at Silverstone. The team principal admits that the objectives were higher, and he hopes Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon will have better chances in the next two races.

“Silverstone was clearly a tough weekend for the team. We must learn lessons from it and apply ourselves to do better in the upcoming races,” Famin stated. “We didn’t enable our drivers to compete. The positive takeaway is our pit stop performance, where we made significant progress.”

The Frenchman promises the team will analyze the extensive data collected over the past three weeks to return to a better level for the two remaining races before the break.

“It was an intense triple-header for the team. We will debrief collectively, work tirelessly to find improvements, and come back stronger in two weeks in Budapest for the Hungarian Grand Prix.”
