Heading to Melbourne for the 2024 Australian Grand Prix, Alpine F1 seeks progress after a challenging start to the season.
Alpine F1 heads to Melbourne for the Australian Grand Prix, the third race of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship season.
Bruno Famin, the team’s director, reflects on the first two events of the calendar and looks towards Australia, acknowledging the need for improvement.
“The start of the season has been challenging. In fact, it has been more so than we anticipated,” he admits today.
“We must continue to make progress and better understand our performance shortfall to eventually enhance our package. Clearly, we have issues that need quick resolution.”
“It was beneficial having both of our drivers at Enstone last week. Alongside their simulator sessions preparing for the upcoming two races, they spent time with the team sharing their driving feedback and offering insights on how to handle the current situation.”
“Everyone is working hard, and this will undoubtedly continue so we can improve our standing.”
Alpine F1 Targets Australian Success
Regarding the upcoming race down under, Famin tempers expectations: achieving “the best possible result” is the goal.
“It’s always fantastic to race in Australia. Albert Park is a great circuit, emblematic of F1, and presents many challenges. It’s not a conventional track as it’s only used part-time throughout the year. Most corners are medium-speed and the layout is quite technical. And there’s another challenge for all of us: dealing with the time difference from Europe, somewhat offset by the enthusiasm of the Australian fans. All this is part of the experience in Australia, and I know the team and drivers are ready to tackle this weekend, giving their all to secure the best possible result.”
