Aston Martin’s struggles continued in Saudi Arabia as Alonso and Stroll gave it all, but walked away with nothing once more.
A challenging race, limited opportunities, and another frustrating result for Aston Martin.
Fernando Alonso remains point-less this season after finishing 11th in Jeddah. Aston Martin hasn’t scored since the Chinese Grand Prix, and Saudi Arabia was another missed chance. Team Principal Andy Cowell broke down what went wrong this time around.
“It was a straightforward race with no major incidents, which made it hard to gain ground,” Cowell said. “Both drivers pushed hard, lap after lap, and we split the strategies to cover our bases.”
Alonso started on the medium compound, while Stroll went long on the hard tires, banking on a possible safety car. But despite an intense, high-temperature race, neither strategy brought the breakthrough they needed.
“The race was physically demanding and tightly contested. The team executed well overall, but in the end, we just missed out on points,” Cowell added.
Looking ahead, Cowell is focused on regrouping before Miami: “After a tough triple-header, we now have a crucial week back at the factory. We’ll be analyzing everything — how we can improve, unlock more performance, and get back in the fight where we belong.”
