Buoyed by 16 points in two races, Albon heads to Japan confident and ready to extend his momentum at a beloved Suzuka.
Alex Albon heads to Japan riding the wave of two standout performances in Australia and China, where he collected a solid 16 points.
The Williams driver has a special connection with Suzuka and Japan, and he’s looking to keep that momentum alive.
“Racing in Japan is always a highlight for me,” Albon said. “I love the culture, the fans, and Suzuka is easily one of my favorite tracks on the calendar. We’re staying focused and motivated as we head into this first triple-header of the season.”
Albon praised the positive atmosphere within the Williams team: “We’ve had a fantastic start to the year. The energy in the team is incredible right now.
Everyone is pulling in the same direction, and that’s exactly what we need going into three races back-to-back. I’m really excited to see what we can achieve.”
Meanwhile, Carlos Sainz is aiming to reset after a difficult start to his 2025 campaign. The Ferrari driver hopes that a better understanding of the car will help turn things around as the season picks up speed.
“I’ve been working closely with the team since China to better understand the car’s behavior in those early races and to unlock more potential for the upcoming rounds,” Sainz explained.
He’s looking forward to the challenge at Suzuka: “It’s such a special circuit — one of the best of the year — and the Japanese fans always bring an incredible vibe. I’m ready to kick off this triple-header with a strong result and build some momentum.”
