Mattia Binotto Joins Texa Firm

Mattia Binotto, 14 months after leaving Formula 1, embarks on a new chapter by joining Texa, focusing on advanced automotive technologies.

Mattia Binotto, who has been out of the sport for a year following his departure from Ferrari, will not be returning to Formula 1 for the time being.

This announcement puts an end to the speculation that had linked him with taking the helm of a team at some point. He had been associated with Alpine F1 in 2023 and even with Red Bull in recent days, amid the crisis surrounding Christian Horner.

The former head of the Maranello team has been hired by an Italian automotive components company named Texa, located near Venice.

He will oversee the design, production, and supply of components related to the electrification of high-performance sports cars.

Binotto, a renowned engineer who rose through the ranks to the pinnacle of the legendary Ferrari team over several decades, has also been appointed to the board of directors of Texa, with the official title of Managing Director.

“Beyond the competitive experience that has always been a part of my life,” Binotto explained, “what drew me to Texa was the strategic boldness of its project aimed at building Italian excellence in the most advanced technologies of the new mobility.”
