Ferrari unveiled the SF-24, its new F1 car for the 2024 season, featuring a livery reminiscent of the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Ferrari has introduced its latest F1 contender for the 2024 season, the SF-24. The Scuderia’s single-seater will be driven by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, before Lewis Hamilton joins the Maranello team next year.

Following the reveal of the team’s suits and various teasers from Ferrari, it was expected that the color scheme would change, with black, used since 2022, giving way to white and yellow on the car’s livery.

For Ferrari, this represents a deliberate move closer to the livery of their official Hypercar prototypes, the 499P, which triumphed at the Le Mans 24 Hours in June 2023.

Technically, the car showcases numerous innovations, unsurprising given the Scuderia’s confirmation of adopting an entirely new concept after struggling to develop the base of the SF-23 last year.

The suspension setup remains unchanged from last year, featuring a pushrod arrangement at the front and a pullrod configuration at the rear. Ferrari also retains its triangular and more compact air intake above the driver.

The sidepods are still widened but, as per the 2024 trend, are extensively refined at their lower section. They feature a more pronounced scoop in their upper part compared to 2023. Additionally, there’s a fin underneath the sidepod air intakes, aimed at better directing airflow towards the radiators.

The car’s nose is flatter and wider than on its two predecessors. At the rear, however, there’s a more sculpted engine cover, incorporating the so-called “cannon cooling” system favored by all teams, which improves engine cooling and also helps redirect airflow towards the diffuser, the beam wing, and the rear wing.
