Verstappen celebrates maiden Singapore GP victory as Red Bull resurgence continues

The four-time world champion praises Red Bull’s progress after another dominant weekend

Max Verstappen has claimed his first-ever Singapore Grand Prix victory, underlining Red Bull’s remarkable return to form with another commanding performance at Marina Bay.

The Dutchman led every lap of the race, completing a weekend that delivered two victories and two pole positions across the Grand Prix and Sprint events. Having also won the previous round, Verstappen heads into the closing stages of the season with renewed confidence and an increasingly competitive Red Bull package.

Singapore had long been one of the few remaining circuits on the calendar where Verstappen had never won. With that milestone now achieved, the Madring is the only current venue still missing from his list of Grand Prix victories.

« It’s taken a while, but it was a very good race, » Verstappen said.

« We had the pace when we needed it on both the soft and medium tyres. The mediums were a bit more difficult, but we made it work, so I’m happy to win here. »

Although his start was not entirely straightforward, Verstappen managed to keep Charles Leclerc behind following an aggressive opening-lap battle.

« We always try to do our best, but luckily it was enough, » he added.

Red Bull’s recent improvements have brought the team firmly back into contention at the front of the field. While a championship challenge appears beyond reach, Verstappen remains in the fight for second place in the Drivers’ Championship.

Meanwhile, Red Bull has reduced its deficit to third-placed McLaren in the Constructors’ Championship to just seven points.

For Verstappen, the team’s renewed competitiveness reflects the collective effort behind its recent turnaround.

« The last few races have been very positive for us, which is great to see, » he explained.

« There’s a lot of motivation within the team to achieve even better results. It’s a fantastic group of people, I really enjoy working with them, and hopefully we can have some more fun until the end of the season. »

With consecutive Grand Prix victories and growing momentum, Verstappen and Red Bull appear increasingly well positioned to challenge for further wins in the remaining races of 2026.
