Tsunoda secured ninth for RB F1 in Las Vegas, but Lawson’s strategy misfired as crucial points slipped in the Constructors’ race.

RB F1 scored two points in Las Vegas thanks to Yuki Tsunoda’s ninth-place finish.
The Japanese driver wished he could have done more to close in on sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship but took pride in the team’s race performance.

“The race wasn’t easy today, but we maximized everything we could, and I think as a team, we made great progress throughout the weekend,” said Tsunoda.

“Obviously, I’m happy to finish in the points today, but at the same time, it’s frustrating as we lost some points for the Constructors’ Championship.

“I felt good and confident in the car, which is important, especially on a circuit like this, so I’m really pleased with that and the high race pace we showed. There are two races left, and we’ll keep fighting until the end of the season. I’m already looking forward to Qatar next week.”

Tsunoda also congratulated Max Verstappen on his fourth world title:
“Finally, my congratulations to Max for winning his fourth World Championship. He’s had an impressive year so far and fully deserves to be crowned champion again.”

Liam Lawson had a challenging race with a one-stop strategy attempt that didn’t pay off.

“A tough race today. The first stint wasn’t too bad; we were in and among the group around us,” said the New Zealander.

“But it’s really hard to overtake—or at least it was for us. We tried a one-stop strategy and stretched my stints, but I think we pushed the second stint a bit too far and ended up pitting too late, which just didn’t work out.

“We faced the same issues today as yesterday, which cost us, but we’ll analyze and fix it for next week. Yuki did well to score points today. We need to make the most of the next two races and try to finish on a high.”

Lawson also praised Verstappen’s performance:

“Congratulations to Max on his four world titles—what an achievement. He fully deserves it after all the hard-fought battles this year. It’s a well-earned success for the whole team.”
