Kamala Harris reveals her love for F1, naming Lewis Hamilton as her favorite driver amid her presidential campaign.
U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris revealed that she is a fan of F1, naming Lewis Hamilton as her favorite driver.
Harris will face Donald Trump next month as the polls open in the race for the U.S. presidency.
She replaced Joe Biden as the Democratic Party’s candidate in July.
As part of her campaign leading up to election day, Harris appeared on the Howard Stern Show.
During the interview, Harris revealed that she “loves” F1, as does her entire family.
“It’s so great. We love F1. Our whole family loves it.”
Unsurprisingly, given her commitments to becoming president, Harris has “not had much time to watch the races recently.”
Another challenge for American viewers is the time zone, with many races taking place in the early morning hours.
“Actually, I haven’t been able to keep up with F1 well these past few weeks because I’m campaigning, and then it depends on where they’re racing, what time of day… you have to wake up early.”
When asked who her favorite driver was, she replied, “Lewis Hamilton, of course. He’s leaving Mercedes for Ferrari, it will be interesting to watch.”
Finally, she encouraged Stern to try watching F1, telling him he might get hooked.
“Once you start… you can’t stop. You should watch, you might get hooked.”
