Aston Martin F1 sharpens its approach for Spa, while Stroll and Alonso face uncertain results.
Lance Stroll finished just outside the top 10 in Belgium this Friday, and the Aston Martin F1 driver is thrilled to be racing at Spa-Francorchamps. He remains uncertain about the work done today and anticipates a challenging weekend ahead.
“Many laps, it’s always fantastic to come back and drive here; it’s an incredible circuit. We tried different things on the car, but it seems that tomorrow might be wet, so we might not get more practice,” Stroll stated.
Fernando Alonso also remains cautious, as he believes that a complete debrief of today is necessary to gauge the capabilities of his car. He confirms that the team has worked on conditions that should be similar to those expected on Sunday.
“It’s hard to say, just after FP2 we come to talk but we don’t have any conclusions until we’ve debriefed, so we’ll have to see tomorrow,” the two-time world champion remarked, before explaining the challenge of the weather forecast for the weekend.
“The same thoughts we had yesterday before the weekend started. The weather could be changeable; we’ll need to be precise in how we manage it, adjusting the car for very different conditions between Saturday and Sunday.”
