Bearman and Fittipaldi will drive for Haas F1 in a two-day Pirelli tyre test at Silverstone, following the British Grand Prix this weekend.
Haas F1 has announced that Oliver Bearman and Pietro Fittipaldi will drive for the team during the two-day Pirelli tyre test at Silverstone following the British Grand Prix.
Fittipaldi, who has been Haas’ reserve driver since 2021, will take the wheel of the VF-24 on Tuesday before handing it over to Bearman the next day.
It has been confirmed that Bearman will become a regular driver for the American team from next season and participated in his third Free Practice 1 session this weekend.
“I am very pleased to be testing for Haas F1 as part of the Pirelli tyre test because it is important to understand the different compounds,” said Fittipaldi.
“It is always a privilege to drive a Formula 1 car, and even more so to help Haas F1 in its development.”
“As we have seen, they are doing an excellent job right now with development, and I want to use this track time to help extrapolate as much data as possible for the team.”
Bearman added: “I will seize any opportunity to get behind the VF-24, so after these free practice sessions with the team, it is a rare and fantastic opportunity to do a full day of running.”
“I am on a good rhythm with the team and next week – I hope the weather conditions will be favourable – will allow me to deepen my knowledge of driving a Formula 1 car before my first season as a regular driver.”
This test will provide Haas F1 with the opportunity to gather data on the upgrade package they have brought to Silverstone and give the “support” team members the chance to play more significant roles.
Ronan O’Hare and Laura Mueller, who serve as performance engineers for the team, will act as race engineers for Fittipaldi and Bearman throughout the test.
