The FIA has imposed a fine on Mercedes F1, reprimanded Haas, and summoned Tsunoda, while Max Verstappen remains unscathed following qualifying issues.
The FIA has already settled some issues before the stewards following complications during qualifying.
At Mercedes F1, Lewis Hamilton exited his garage carrying his rear jack and the exhaust extraction hose. Fortunately, neither element entered the fast lane of the pitlane, but the FIA has decided to fine Mercedes F1 €5000 for this careless departure.
At Haas F1, Nico Hülkenberg was under investigation for two forced merges into the queue of cars in Q1 and Q2. The Haas F1 team received a reprimand, not the driver.
Regarding Max Verstappen, he was under potential investigation for driving too slowly in the pitlane, but the FIA has chosen not to pursue this matter.
It is worth noting that Yuki Tsunoda is under investigation by the stewards for insulting a competitor, calling him a “retard.” Guanyu Zhou had overtaken the Japanese driver in the pitlane.
This is contrary to the FIA’s International Sporting Code, article 12.2.1.f. He will have to explain himself before the stewards shortly.
