Carlos Sainz clinched fourth at Miami GP, voicing regrets over his near victory with Ferrari.
Carlos Sainz finished fourth at the Miami Grand Prix with Ferrari, admitting some regrets at the finish.
“Today, I think everyone was fighting really hard. Initially, Checo at the start, as we used to say with Seb [Vettel], ‘he came like a torpedo’ and nearly took us all out, costing me two positions.”
“From there, I was very quick. I saved my tires and didn’t catch the safety car by nearly a lap, which could have given us the victory.”
“Then frustrated by Oscar, as he clearly derailed our race and made us lose time with Charles and Max.”
“I noticed that the stewards were not very aggressive today with penalties, so I had to be aggressive in sending them messages over the radio.”
Sainz also praised Lando Norris’s victory.
“He has deserved to win a race for so long. He’s a driver who will win many races in F1.”
“He drove at an exceptional level. Today, he was lucky, but luck comes to those who deserve it, and today, he really deserved it.”
