Max Verstappen blasts Drive to Survive for distorting reality, criticising how Netflix portrayed his reaction to Lando Norris’ 2024 Miami GP win.
Max Verstappen has once again criticised Netflix’s Drive to Survive for the way it portrays him.
This time, his frustration comes from how the show depicted his reaction to the 2024 Miami Grand Prix, where Lando Norris took his first-ever Formula 1 victory.
Norris capitalised on a perfectly timed safety car to beat Verstappen’s Red Bull by 7.6 seconds. In the series, Verstappen is shown looking frustrated post-race, after calling his car a “disaster” over team radio.
But the four-time world champion isn’t having it.
“Apparently, I was really upset after Miami,” he said, laughing. “But I actually had the best night celebrating with him on Sunday. So I don’t know why they do that.”
Verstappen admitted he hasn’t watched the episode—or the show at all.
“I’m not surprised. I didn’t watch it, but you still see these things pop up on X. You just have to ignore them quickly so they stop appearing in your feed.”
During the FIA press conference, Oscar Piastri and Jack Doohan jokingly suggested he should just block the clips.
“You can’t block them,” Verstappen replied. “If you ignore them, no one even notices!”
