Hadjar shines with P6 as Racing Bulls double up in Q3

Isack Hadjar stuns in Monaco F1 qualifying, securing P6. Racing Bulls impress with both cars advancing to Q3 in strong showing.

Isack Hadjar once again demonstrated his strong qualifying form by setting an impressive sixth-fastest time in qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix. The Racing Bulls driver, who has never been eliminated in Q1, will start from the third row and was pleased with his performance in the session.

“If there was one qualifying I wanted to nail this year, it was this one, and we did it so I’m super happy,” Hadjar told Canal+. “We had three difficult free practice sessions, and going into qualifying I didn’t have the confidence I wanted, I still had doubts.”

“I gradually built up my performance, managing to find more pace with each lap and it all came together in Q2. Each time in the garage we made the right adjustments to improve the car and we always moved in the right direction, so we managed to pull off a great qualifying.”

The Frenchman met Alain Prost after the session and enjoyed the moment. “It was cool to finally meet him properly. I had never spoken to him face to face before, and it was great to get to know him and have a chat.”

Lawson Delivers in Monaco

Liam Lawson qualified ninth, his first Q3 appearance of the season, though the New Zealander believes he could have done even better. “Before the weekend, I would have been happy just to reach Q3, but the car was really quick, especially in FP2 and FP3.”

“We were very strong but just fell a bit short in qualifying. It’s a shame, we had some traffic but there’s always a lot of that here. I think we lacked a bit of performance but overall it’s a good qualifying.”

Lawson expects an eventful race, although he sees qualifying as the key part of the weekend. “With the new rules it’s going to be interesting, we’ll do the best we can. The most important part of the weekend is done and we’re in a good position. The car is fast, so we have to make the most of it tomorrow.”
