Alonso Shuts Down Questions After Melbourne Practice

Aston Martin F1: Alonso Stays Tight-Lipped in Melbourne

14/03/2025

Fernando Alonso made it clear in Melbourne—he won’t discuss Friday performances. The Aston Martin driver dismissed media questions with sharp remarks.

Fernando Alonso kept it short and sharp after Aston Martin’s first day on track in Melbourne. The two-time world champion made it clear—he won’t be discussing Friday performances with the media this season.

“We’re here because we have to be, but there’s really nothing to say,” Alonso shrugged. “We’ve just stepped out of the car, as always. And for the next 24 Fridays, you can ask all the questions you want—I won’t be answering.”

With a hint of humour, he reassured everyone that things were running smoothly: “Now, I’ll go over everything with my team in private. We did some laps, the car works, the engine works, the brakes are fine, the gearbox shifts—so all good.”

Lance Stroll was just as reserved, focusing on his own progress with the AMR25: “It’s just testing. I haven’t looked at the long-run pace, but we’ll analyse things for tomorrow. Some corners feel better than others.”

No drama, no fuss—just another Friday in F1.

It’s just testing. I haven’t looked at the long-run pace
