Aston Martin Valkyrie Readies for Le Mans 2025

23/07/2024

Aston Martin’s Valkyrie AMR-LMH is set to debut at the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans and WEC and IMSA races in 2025.

The new Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH hit the track for the first time as Aston Martin and The Heart of Racing kick off a comprehensive testing program ahead of the brand’s return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans next year, for the first time since 1959.

The new Hypercar, developed by Aston Martin Performance Technologies and The Heart of Racing team, underwent initial shakedown and evaluation tests in the UK this week. The car was driven by Darren Turner, Aston Martin High Performance development driver, Mario Farnbacher from The Heart of Racing, and Harry Tincknell.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH is unique in the Hypercar category as it is the only one among its contemporaries to derive from an existing production car, the Aston Martin Valkyrie.

The Heart of Racing team will field two Valkyrie AMR-LMH cars in WEC and one in IMSA in 2025. From 2025, Aston Martin will be the only manufacturer to race at every level of sportscar and GT racing (from Hypercar to GT4) and in F1.

“The Valkyrie AMR-LMH is a pure racing machine, at the cutting edge of technology, and although it is still very early in the testing cycle, from what we have seen so far, we are confident it meets the objectives and standards we have set,” said Adam Carter, Director of Aston Martin Endurance Motorsport.
