Argentine Racer Colapinto Holds Out for Red Bull Seat

Colapinto Eyes F1 Return by 2026 Amid Red Bull Speculation

Franco Colapinto prioritizes F1 aspirations despite limited options, considering Red Bull a potential path for his 2026 or 2027 comeback.

Franco Colapinto emphasizes that racing in F1 remains his priority despite dwindling options for a seat next season.

The Argentine driver must fight for a full-time seat in 2025, with a move to Red Bull or RB F1 as the only remaining possibility, if negotiations are successful.

Red Bull is highly interested in Colapinto’s potential, both on track and in terms of marketing, especially as Sergio Perez begins to seriously frustrate his bosses.

“I don’t really know what I’m going to do at the moment; it’s more in the hands of my managers.”

“James [Vowles] is also involved in what I might do. Of course, my goal and target are to stay in Formula 1.”

“If I don’t have an F1 seat, I’d like to keep racing. I guess they’re trying to evaluate every opportunity to see what’s possible.”

“I really want to keep racing and stay active. I still want to be part of the F1 paddock—I think that’s very important.”

“But I love racing, and if it’s not possible because there’s no chance for 2025, I hope to be here in 2026 or 2027.”

“I hope to show that I deserve a seat here, but if I can’t race in F1, instead of watching 24 races on TV, I’d still like to drive elsewhere in the meantime.”

Despite heavy speculation linking him to a move to Red Bull, Colapinto says he’s trying to stay focused on the task at hand.

“I haven’t really thought about my future so far. I’ve tried to focus race by race and session by session, just trying to do my best.”

“I’m not really focusing on what I want to achieve or my expectations. I’m just trying to get the basics right, and then we’ll see where we are, but for now, things are going well.”
