Sergio Pérez criticized his father’s homophobic comments targeting Ralf Schumacher, stating they were a mistake and don’t reflect his views.

Pérez finished on the podium at the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix last year, and the Red Bull driver explains why he enjoyed the circuit. However, he admits the race will be a challenge.

“I think last year we were very strong; we managed to recover after the first-lap incident. I led the race and fought with Max and Charles. It was intense, and I know it will be the same again; it will be a tough race,” Pérez said.

Asked about Red Bull’s hopes for the constructors’ title, he acknowledges the need to perform: “I think we need a few one-two finishes before the end of the season to get back on track. That will be the goal for the rest of the season.”

The Mexican also addressed his father’s homophobic comments about Ralf Schumacher and made it clear he disagreed with them: “First of all, I don’t agree with any of his comments. I think he made a mistake in that regard.”

“I don’t share any of his views, but at the same time, I can’t control what my father says; I can only control what I say. It’s important as a sport to always show that whatever happens on the track stays on the track. That’s how I see it, and we should always set an example for the rest of the world.”
