Impressive Performance by Sargeant for Williams F1

The American Logan Sargeant was the most productive on the second day. with over 150 laps completed.
Logan Sargeant delivered an outstanding performance in Bahrain, emerging as the most prolific driver on the second day of the 2023 Formula 1 winter testing season.
The American driver, who will make his Grand Prix debut next week, completed an impressive 154 laps without making any mistakes behind the wheel of the FW45, and clocked the seventh-fastest time of the day. He will be replaced by Alex Albon tomorrow, marking the end of his testing session.
“What a day! 154 laps completed and I can finally take a seat,” exclaimed Sargeant.
“I think today surpassed the most amount of kilometers I’ve ever covered in a day. I held up physically very well. We did so many runs, which is a testament to the team’s quality and the hard work they’ve put in,” Sargeant remarked.
“We made progress in the right direction all day, and it was really positive. We also did some shorter runs this morning, and given the track temperature, I was relatively pleased with the car’s performance,” Sargeant explained.
“Throughout the long runs this afternoon, the car was in a good window, and I could drive it exactly how I wanted. There are still some things to look at, but I’ll leave that to Alex (Albon) tomorrow,” Sargeant said.
“It was a very positive day. I now feel ready for my first race weekend, and I am really looking forward to it,” Sargeant expressed.
Williams’ head of vehicle performance, Dave Robson, commended Sargeant for a job well done on his final day of testing.
“Logan completed the whole day, which gave him an excellent workout ahead of the Grand Prix,” said the Williams engineer.
“He had the opportunity to experiment with setup and tyre management, using many new tyre sets. He did an excellent job, completed a lot of useful work, and despite having a short pre-season testing time, he was able to complete a lot of valuable laps.
Alex is set to take over the car, and we are anticipating slightly different conditions that will allow us to observe distinct characteristics of the FW45.
“We are eagerly anticipating a third day of reliable running to finish our season preparation. There are naturally many areas of opportunity with a new car, and tomorrow is all about identifying and unlocking as many of them as possible in time for next week’s Grand Prix.”
