Haas F1 makes progress in Bahrain testing with Magnussen

Haas F1 driver Kevin Magnussen completed nearly 100 laps without any issues in Bahrain, saying it was a successful day. The team covered over 170 laps and completed a race simulation, making good progress compared to last year. The team is prepared for the upcoming race.

Kevin Magnussen is ‘satisfied’ that Haas F1 did not face any issues in Bahrain and completed nearly 100 laps this afternoon.

It was a successful day for Kevin Magnussen and Haas F1, as the Danish driver completed 95 laps this afternoon in Bahrain – more than any other driver who was present for half a day. He is now ready for the first Grand Prix of the season, which will take place next week.

Magnussen stated, “These three days have been very busy and that’s a very positive thing.”

“Today, we did a lot of laps, and I was in the car from start to finish – I only got out to go to the bathroom! We completed a full race simulation in one run, including pit stops, so I’m quite satisfied,” he explained.

“You come into testing with a plan, and you expect to have to change it due to various issues along the way, but we didn’t really have to do that. We got through everything, did almost 100 laps in an afternoon, and that’s typically what you expect to do in a full day,” he said.

The team principal of the American team, Günther Steiner, also mentioned “a very good day,” as Nico Hülkenberg also drove well this morning with 77 laps completed.

“We covered more than 170 laps without any issues. We completed one race simulation and almost finished a second one. In general, we had very few issues during these tests compared to previous years. The entire team came here very well prepared and you could see that,” he explained.

“We have made good progress compared to last year, and we now have to see where we stand. It’s hard to say yet, but we are in the midfield. Let’s wait and see whether we are at the top or the bottom of it, but we are ready for the race next weekend,” he said.
