Breaking – AlphaTauri presents The new AT04 F1 2023

AlphaTauri has unveiled its vehicle for the 2023 Formula 1 championship, along with a refreshed livery for the upcoming season.
AlphaTauri has debuted a new livery for the 2023 Formula 1 season, featuring a greater presence of red in tribute to its new sponsor, Orlen, which previously supported Alfa Romeo. The revised color scheme was showcased on a display car at New York Fashion Week and in renderings of the AT04, which the team referred to as the new car.
Although the design in the renderings appears to be different, with more changes compared to Red Bull’s 2022 car and its claimed 2023 design at its launch, there are noticeable similarities that suggest the AT04 that AlphaTauri will bring to the Bahrain testing later in February will not match exactly what was presented during the livery reveal event in New York.
Some of the most prominent changes that are visible so far include a higher cooling tunnel between the sidepod and engine cover and shallower radiator inlets. Additionally, the front wheel seems to have been shifted forward, creating a larger gap between the front wheels and the front of the sidepods and floor for improved aerodynamics.
Last year, AlphaTauri struggled to maintain the strong performances from previous seasons, which included their unexpected victory at Monza in 2020 with Pierre Gasly and times when they were competing with Ferrari and McLaren for the title of third-fastest car in terms of raw pace. The team finished ninth in the constructors’ championship, impacted by the process of moving to share Red Bull’s wind tunnel during 2021 and preparing for the major regulation changes, as well as challenges with their strategy of implementing large upgrade packages instead of regular smaller improvements.
“The AT03 provided us with a wealth of insights during its development, much of which have been integrated into the AT04’s design to tackle the shortcomings we recognized,” stated Technical Director Jody Egginton. “To put it simply, we were slightly deficient in downforce compared to our primary rivals and saw the chance to lower the weight.”
Yuki Tsunoda remains with AlphaTauri for a third season, despite his inconsistent driving style, with this being considered his final opportunity to demonstrate his potential and earn a future spot with the senior team, Red Bull Racing, which currently seems unlikely.

With Pierre Gasly’s departure to Alpine, Tsunoda will be joined by Nyck de Vries, who had previously won Formula 2 and Formula E championships but had yet to receive a chance in Formula 1 until he made a noteworthy substitute appearance for Williams in the Italian Grand Prix last year, which led to AlphaTauri abandoning its plan of obtaining a superlicence for IndyCar star Colton Herta.
