Zhou Guanyu Eyeing Higher Expectations for 2023 F1 Season

Zhou Guanyu stated that he and Alfa Romeo need to have elevated anticipations going into the 2023 Formula 1 season, following a successful 2022, with the unveiling of the C43 on Tuesday.
On his first outing in Bahrain, Zhou earned points and went on to secure a handful of additional top 10 finishes in Canada and Italy, reaching a high of eighth place.
During the off-season, Zhou was able to visit his hometown in China for the first time since mid-2020 and expressed his readiness to tackle his second year with determination.
Zhou stated that as a rookie, Formula 1 was a challenging experience that involved going through various circumstances, experiencing both triumphs and setbacks.
Zhou expressed satisfaction with their accomplishments in the first year and emphasized that expectations for the upcoming year are higher.
Zhou’s goal is straightforward: to secure more points finishes for both the team and himself, and to improve upon his personal best finish of eighth place. He would love to reach a top six finish and make it to Q3 more frequently this year.
According to Zhou, the team has the necessary tools and car to achieve these goals. However, the competition in the middle of the pack will still be intense, so success will hinge on paying attention to small details, minimizing errors, and maintaining consistency.
Zhou feels that the lessons learned in 2022 will allow him to feel more confident and at ease heading into 2023.
