Red Bull RB19 2023

The Red Bull Racing team has officially presented their 2023 Formula 1 vehicle, the RB19, which they claim to be the first to be revealed for the upcoming season.

Red Bull unveiled their 2023 car, referred to as the RB19, at a comprehensive launch event in New York. The team also announced that they will run unique fan-created designs for their vehicles during the American races in Austin, Las Vegas, and Miami.

While the designs for the races in Austin, Las Vegas, and Miami will likely deviate from the traditional Red Bull look, the colors on the RB19 for most of the season will remain the recognizable combination of matte dark blue, red, and yellow.

Red Bull’s main sponsor, Oracle, retains a significant presence in terms of branding, as does crypto exchange Bybit. Bybit has continued its partnership with the team, despite other F1 teams ending their relationships with crypto sponsors. Red Bull, on the other hand, has severed its ties with blockchain firm Tezos.

By displaying its livery, Red Bull became the second Formula 1 team to reveal its 2023 colors, following Haas’s presentation three days prior.

Despite this, Red Bull is the first team to present what it claims is a 2023 design, even though both the car shown in New York and the images released online appear very similar to the previous model.

Team leader Christian Horner emphasized that the RB19 is largely a continuation given the “stable” regulations, and added that there have been some minor aerodynamic modifications affecting all teams.

“The tires are also slightly altered. However, the RB19 builds upon the strengths of what was our most successful car to date,” Horner stated.

The 2023 season is the second year of the current regulations cycle with only limited changes to the technical rules. However, Red Bull, like many top Formula 1 teams, has a history of concealing some design features until the beginning or even midway through pre-season testing.

Replacing the successful RB18, which had the most race wins in Red Bull’s history, the new car is now powered by “Honda RBPT” instead of just “Red Bull Powertrains.”

Honda, who officially left Formula 1 after winning the championship in 2021, still designs the hybrid V6 engine used by Red Bull, and will receive greater exposure this year compared to 2022.

However, Red Bull’s long-term prospects lie in an engine designed by Red Bull Powertrains and a 2026 collaboration with Ford. This partnership was officially announced shortly before the unveiling of the RB19.
