Alonso impressed by Aston Martin motivation 2023

Fernando Alonso stated that he was impressed by the level of motivation he saw within the Aston Martin F1 team during his first day with them.

A video showcasing Fernando Alonso’s initial visit to the factory of the Silverstone-based marque has been created and shared by the team.

In the video, Fernando Alonso is shown getting a seat fitting, talking with the engineering team, and participating in simulator training.

The video also includes a moment of embrace with the Group CEO Martin Whitmarsh, who had a role of chief operating officer at McLaren when Alonso was a driver for the team during the 2007 season, where he raced alongside Lewis Hamilton.

After what seemed to be a pleasant day for the 41-year-old Spanish driver, he stated: “There’s a lot of energy from everyone, very motivated.”

At 41, Fernando Alonso is still determined to win more world titles, he already has two with Renault from 2005 and 2006. Aston Martin, who are two years into a five-year plan to become a championship-winning F1 force, will be his new team for that endeavor.

Fernando Alonso will be joining forces with Lance Stroll, son of the team owner Lawrence, at Aston Martin. He will be taking over the spot left by Vettel, who had a two-year tenure at the team after leaving Ferrari.

Aston Martin plans to rise from their P7 finish in the constructors’ standings in 2021 and 2022, by launching an all-new factory as part of their grand F1 plans.
