Haas has announced their test and reserve driver for the 2023 season

Pietro Fittipaldi made a surprise debut in Formula One as a replacement for Romain Grosjean, who was unable to compete due to injuries sustained in a crash at the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix. Fittipaldi competed in the final two races of that season, finishing 17th in the Sakhir GP and 19th in the Abu Dhabi GP.
Pietro Fittipaldi, the grandson of Formula One World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi, will remain as the reserve and test driver for Haas.
For the 2023 Formula 1 season, Pietro Fittipaldi will continue to serve as the Test and Reserve driver for Haas.
Pietro Fittipaldi, a Brazilian driver, has been in the role of Test and Reserve driver for Haas since 2019. He recently participated in two FP1 sessions for the team at the Mexico and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2022.
Pietro Fittipaldi made his Formula One debut in 2020, taking part in the Sakhir and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix as a replacement for Romain Grosjean, who was unable to compete due to injuries sustained in a crash at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
Since then, Fittipaldi has remained in the reserve driver position and will continue to do so in 2023, serving as a backup for the team’s drivers, Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg.
Haas recently entered into a multi-year deal with digital person-to-person company MoneyGram as their new title sponsor, this comes after their previous sponsorship deal with UralKali was terminated at the beginning of 2022.
The team has not yet announced when their 2023 car will be revealed, but it is speculated that it could be unveiled at the end of February during the pre-season test in Bahrain.
“I am thrilled to be staying with Haas, a team that I consider my family,” said Fittipaldi.
“Last year, I participated in two free practice sessions and conducted testing at the start and end of the season, which allowed me to gain experience and try out some things for the upcoming season,” Fittipaldi said.
“I am eagerly looking forward to seeing the new car and the new improvements, and I hope that we will be able to make even more progress with the VF-23,” said Fittipaldi.
Haas is the only team that has not yet announced a launch date for its 2023 Formula 1 car.
