Hamilton claims to be unparalleled as a driver

Lewis Hamilton is determined to disprove a statistic in F1 that persisted last season, and he believes that if anyone can beat the odds, it’s him.
In the previous season, the seven-time world champion experienced his most unsuccessful campaign in F1, as he was unable to claim victory in any race while driving for Mercedes. Meanwhile, his new teammate George Russell secured a win in Brazil.
There were definitely extenuating circumstances for Mercedes’ drivers, who were frequently unable to combat the persistent aerodynamic problems present in the W13 car of the Brackley team.
Hamilton’s sixteenth season in F1 has placed him fourth in the list of drivers with the most F1 race starts, behind Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen, and Rubens Barrichello. He has participated in a total of 310 Grand Prix races.
However, F1 history records reveal that no driver who has competed in at least 300 Grand Prix races has ever won a race once they reached that number of starts.
During an interview with Formula 1 Magazine, when presented with that statistic, Hamilton responded confidently: “But there has never been a driver like me either!”
Many believe that if Mercedes manages to improve its performance, Hamilton will once again reach the top spot on the podium and potentially compete for an unprecedented eighth championship.
There is a strong sense of determination for retribution at the Brackley team.
“Our motivation came from the desire to bounce back after 2021,” Hamilton stated, referencing Mercedes’ unsuccessful season in 2022.
“But there was a moment when I realized, ‘With this car, it’s impossible for me to compete for the championship’”
“If I had to summarize last year, I would say that as a team we emerged even more determined and resilient.”
