Alfa Romeo has shared details about the launch of its 2023 Formula 1 car, becoming one of the last teams to do so.
The Alfa Romeo Racing team, based in Switzerland, will unveil their 2023 Formula 1 car, the C43, on February 7th in Zurich.
Alfa Romeo Racing team ended the last Formula 1 season in 6th place, the best result for the team in the last decade. They were able to hold off a strong challenge from Aston Martin towards the end of the season.
Alfa Romeo Racing team will continue to use the Sauber branding in the 2023 Formula 1 season as it has done since 2019. However, Alfa Romeo is set to end its association with Sauber at the end of the 2023 season due to Sauber’s partnership with Audi.
Alfa Romeo Racing team will start the new Formula 1 season with the same driver lineup of Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu.
Alfa Romeo Racing team has also signed Théo Pourchaire, who will be participating in his third season of Formula 2, as their reserve driver.
Alfa Romeo Racing team currently doesn’t have a Team Principal after the departure of Frederic Vasseur to Ferrari.
Alfa Romeo’s parent company, Sauber Motorsport, has appointed Andreas Seidl as its new CEO. However, Seidl will not hold both the roles of CEO and Team Principal like his predecessor, Frederic Vasseur, instead, he will look for a direct replacement for Vasseur.
