Chadwick stays with Williams while joining Indy NXT

While switching her racing focus to the United States with Indy NXT, Jamie Chadwick will continue to be a member of the Williams Driver Academy.
Jamie Chadwick, the 24-year-old reigning champion of the W Series, has joined Andretti Autosport to compete in what is now known as Indy Lights for the upcoming season. Despite her move to the United States, Chadwick will continue to be a part of the Williams Driver Academy, which she has been a part of since 2019, in order to maintain her involvement in Formula 1 racing.
“I am thrilled to maintain my association with Williams, who have supported me since 2019,” said Chadwick. “Being able to stay connected with the team and keep my Formula 1 aspirations alive is crucial for me. I look forward to achieving great things together.”
Chadwick will continue to receive a personalized simulator program at Williams, and the team’s Sporting Director, Sven Smeets, states that her abilities also allow her to offer support to the race team.
“We are thrilled that Jamie will continue to be a vital member of our Driver Academy at Williams Racing,” said Smeets. “She is an incredibly skilled driver and a powerful inspiration for the next generation of female motorsport athletes. We look forward to providing her support as she takes on the new challenge in Indy NXT in 2023.”
Williams recently announced the addition of Argentine driver Franco Colapinto to its Driver Academy. He will be competing in Formula 3 at MP Motorsport for the current year and won two races in his rookie season in 2022.
