Barcelona F1 2022 – Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes end the day 3 with the fastest all-time in these tests, with a time of 1:19.138 achieved with C5.
Lewis Hamilton ended the final day of pre-season testing from Barcelona with the fastest lap time, setting a 1:19.138s.
The time marked the fastest lap of the weekend, and was set in the final minutes of the session.
Hamilton only drove the car in the afternoon, as new team-mate George Russell occupied the seat in the morning.
The former Williams driver held the fastest lap for much of the day before his effort was bested by the seven-time World Champion.

6 | Leclerc | Ferrari | 1:19.831 (C3) | 44 |
7 | Sainz | Ferrari | 1:20.072 (C3) | 91 |
8 | Albon | Williams | 1:20.318 (C4) | 93 |
9 | Latifi | Williams | 1:20.699 (C4) | 13 |
10 | Ricciardo | McLaren | 1:20.750 (C3) | 85 |

16 | Bottas | Alfa Romeo | 1:30.433 (C3) | 10 |
After running was held in dry conditions during Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning, during today’s lunch break, the circuit was artificially saturated so teams and Pirelli could gather data on wet weather tyres.
Alpine, Aston Martin and Haas didn’t take part in the afternoon outing after all three suffered issues in the morning session.
Russell’s time from the morning was still good enough for second fastest at the chequered flag, while the Red Bull duo of Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen were third and fourth respectively.
Vettel was fifth, and below him, the two-by-twos continued with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz sitting sixth and seventh, ahead of the Williams pair of Alexander Albon and Nicholas Latifi.
Daniel Ricciardo rounded out the top 10, with his time only marginally faster than team-mate Lando Norris’, who was 11th.
Alonso was 12th but was forced to watch most of the day from the sidelines, while rookie Guanyu Zhou and Pierre Gasly followed the veteran Spaniard.

Nikita Mazepin, whose Haas’ future is currently in doubt following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, was 15th, while Valtteri Bottas rounded out the times for Alfa Romeo.
Three more days of pre-season action will take place in two weeks’ time in Sakhir, ahead of the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix on March 20.
