Santander rejoins Ferrari as sponsor in multi-year deal. Scuderia Ferrari has officially confirmed a new multi-year contract with long-time sponsor Kaspersky, at the end of the 2021 Formula 1 championship.
Spanish bank, Santander, will return as a key sponsor of the Ferrari Formula 1 team and its endurance programme after inking a new multi-year deal.
Santander has long been involved in F1, previously sponsoring the McLaren team following the signing of Spaniard Fernando Alonso, before moving to Ferrari for the 2010 to 2017 seasons.
A new ‘Premium Partner’ deal will see the company’s logo feature on the 2022 F1 car, the overalls and caps of drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, as well as expanding to cover the Ferrari Driver Academy.
As part of the deal Santander will also feature in Ferrari Competizioni GT, with its logo on the official cars participating in the FIA World Endurance Championship and on the upcoming Le Mans Hypercar.
“It’s an honour to team up again with a global financial institution like Santander, which is committed to responsible banking and has shown leadership in renewable energy finance and ESG advisory services all around the world,” commented Ferrari chairman John Elkann.
“We look forward partnering with them to deliver our key objective of becoming carbon neutral by 2030. We believe Formula One with its innovations and technological developments will benefit our industry and ultimately society as a whole.”
Ana Botín, Santander executive chairman, added: “We are very excited to work with Ferrari again, and support them in the green transition. Santander is fully committed to tackling climate change, and as Europe’s leading provider of auto finance, we are determined to help the auto industry as it goes green. Our new partnership with Ferrari will accelerate our common progress.”
