THE FIRST IMAGES – PEREZ MEETS RED BULL CAR ON WET SILVERSTONE

Sergio Perez with Red Bull on Silverstone – The first images of Perez’s first day on the track with Red Bull have now been released. Perez, who has joined Red Bull in place of Alex Albon, is driving the 2019 RB15 to acclimatise to Red Bull’s procedures and new elements such as its steering wheel and Honda engine in a live environment, prior to joining team-mate Max Verstappen in shaking down the 2021 car on Wednesday.
Sergio Perez got his first taste of a charging Bull with a two-day test at Silverstone this week behind the wheel of the Red Bull Racing RB15.
Describing his first experience in a Red Bull Racing car as a “dream come true”, Sergio’s preparations for his first season with the Team got underway at a cold and wet Silverstone circuit.
Sergio racked up the laps as the Team focused on short runs to optimise seat fitting, pedal adjustment and familiarisation with operational procedures before work on day two focused on long runs and race weekend preparation.
“It’s very different in the way it’s a new team, there’s so many things you have to learn,” Perez said last month.
“It just takes a bit of time. I will just get better and better knowing the team, the team understanding what I need.
“[I am] speeding up the process, putting that work into the pre-season. I’ve already spent a good amount of time with my engineers. That’s the key to try to speed up the process.
“I have a good idea of what the Red Bull car is like. It’s already in the back of my head, the car, but we are in that time where nothing comes easy.
“You have to really learn and work to get up to speed with the car.
“It’s getting there and it’s going to be very limited testing, with only a day and a half.”
PEREZ UNVEILS HELMET FOR 2021
Sergio Perez has shown off his helmet for the upcoming season. On the day the RB16B was also launched, Perez proudly showed off his first Red Bull Racing helmet.
Perez reveals that the design of his helmet is very important to him. “Yellow is my colour, as you know. I had to stick to pink in the past, but I am happy that I can finally go back to a yellow helmet,” Perez said. The experienced Mexican calls his latest design his most beautiful helmet ever.
