It has been over ten days since the news broke that Leclerc had tested positive for the coronavirus. He is thought to have contracted it during a holiday in Dubai.
Although Ferrari have not officially confirmed anything, he now appears to be negative as fans have welcomed him at the entrance to the factory in Maranello
Leclerc salvaged two podium finishes for Ferrari during its torrid 2020 campaign and finished eighth in the Drivers’ Championship.
The Monegasque youngster, under contract with Ferrari through 2024, revealed on January 14 that he was self-isolating at home after testing positive for Covid-19.
Leclerc became the fifth Formula 1 driver, after Sergio Perez, Lance Stroll, Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris, to contract the virus.
Ferrari has organised a five-day test with its 2018-spec SF71H at Fiorano and Leclerc got behind the wheel in sunny conditions on Tuesday morning.
Leclerc is due to remain in the car for the rest of the day.
Under Formula 1 regulations teams are permitted to carry out private running in machinery that is two or more years old.
