SUPERIORITY PART OF THE SPORT - BRUNDLE IMPRESSED BY WOLFF AND MERCEDES

Martin Brundle does have a idea that explains Mercedes’ success, and it begins with the figure of Toto Wolff.

“We should celebrate your excellence”- Contrary to the popular trend; Martin Brundle wants to appreciate Mercedes for its continued dominance.

Mercedes have irked the fans because of their continued success in the sport, as it has zeroed down the scope of competitiveness, with other teams lagging much behind in quality.

However, Martin Brundle praising Mercedes’ model opines that people should appreciate the dominance of Mercedes, and he also lauded the team principal Toto Wolff.

“What Toto has done is simply unbelievable. He has taken what he has taken over from Ross and the gang to an even higher level. If that could be transferred to other industries, it would be unbelievable.”

Brundle also acknowledged the not so liked side of Wolff, as he holds influence over multiple teams on the grid, which somehow poses scope of conflict of interests and reduces the possible future challenges to Mercedes.

“Toto is in an extreme form. I mean, you can only be impressed by what he’s done. … I fully understand that if you’ve been successful for a few years and as an entrepreneur, I have interests in certain indirect relationships with players in the sport – that’s annoying,”

He further went onto say that he never watched any car stick to the race track like Mercedes, and for this, one should recognize the brilliance of the engineering team.

“We should celebrate your excellence. I’ve never seen a car that sticks to the road like this. … In our sport we have to remember that there were times when Williams, McLaren, Ferrari, Benetton dominated – Red Bull too, of course.”
