MERCEDES HINT AT HAMILTON CONTRACT BREAKTHROUGH WITH TEASING S-MEDIA POST

Mercedes have teased fans of an imminent update on Lewis Hamilton’s contract situation in their latest social media post. The grid for the 2021 Formula One season remains unfinished with Hamilton still not signed up to a new contract with the reigning champions.
Mercedes signal Lewis hamilton contract extension with a recent cryptic social media post it made, with a caption that made it obvious.
For most of the off-season, Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton‘s contract extension deadlock has been reported extensively, but no kind of development was made until now.
The recent tweet by Mercedes F1’s official Twitter handle clearly hints that Lewis Hamilton will sign a contract extension. The tweet posted an image of a Mercedes pen and captioned: “You never know when one of these might come in handy…”
The post has since the received innumerable replies speculating that this is a tease before the confirmation is made about Hamilton signing the new contract which will allow his vie for the 8th championship title.
Even with high financial demands, Mercedes should try to find a solution to Hamilton’s contract extension talks’ stalemate. Letting Hamilton go wouldn’t be a wise decision.
Even if they see a viable replacement in George Russell, one isn’t sure whether the Williams’ driver is ready to be the primary driver of the team and could risk Mercedes title streak.
This is no way underestimating Russell, but the Brit needs to be transitioned into the role smoothly and with no rush. On the other hand, Hamilton is among the all-time greats, and have made the most out of the dominant Mercedes car.
Thus, if Hamilton signs for Mercedes, it would be in Mercedes’ interest only, considering the budget caps and aerodynamics freeze will now make it more about the driver’s ability.
