BREAKING NEWS: NORRIS TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

McLaren driver Lando Norris has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating, his Formula One team said on Tuesday.
McLaren said in a statement here that Norris had returned a positive result on Monday in Dubai, where he is on a holiday before the team’s training camp.
Tests Positive Covid-19 – McLaren driver Lando Norris has become the fourth Formula 1 racer to return a positive test for Covid-19.
Norris is on holiday in Dubai ahead of a planned training camp but suffered a loss of taste and smell on Monday and immediately undertook a test.
The test came back positive and in line with local regulations he is now self-isolating in his hotel for the next 14 days.
“Hi everyone, hope you are all keeping well,” said Norris in a statement.
“Yesterday I lost my sense of taste and smell so immediately self-isolated and took a test.
“I’ve come back as positive, so I’ve told everyone that I’ve been in contact with and will be self-isolating for the next 14 days.
“I feel alright and have no other symptoms but I just wanted to let you all know.”
Sergio Perez, Lance Stroll and Lewis Hamilton all missed grands prix in 2020 after contracting Covid-19.
Perez was forced to miss both Silverstone races while Stroll fell unwell at the Nurburgring and withdrew from the event before returning a positive test.
Hamilton was absent from the Sakhir round after testing positive the day after the first Bahrain event in November.
Norris finished ninth in the drivers standings last season.
