MERCEDES - SPECIAL F1 LIVERY FOR ABU DHABI FINALE

Mercedes has revealed the amended design of its special F1 livery, which it will use for the rest of the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend.

Since the passing of Niki Lauda, three-time world champion and team director, prior to the 2019 Monaco Grand Prix, the three-pointed star symbol on the engine cover of Mercedes’ F1 cars has been red in memory of him.

For the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the design of the engine cover has been altered to display the names of all employees at both the Brackley and Brixworth car and engine divisions of Mercedes.

For seven consecutive years, the Silver Arrows have secured both of the World Championships available.

Mercedes has announced the updated design of its livery for the remainder of the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend.

Mercedes has etched the names of all team members within its Formula 1 organization, from various locations, onto the body of the W11 car.

The team has achieved 15 pole positions and 13 victories in 16 races this year, as it marched towards a seventh consecutive title and set a new record in Formula 1.

“All the names of those who have contributed to this year’s success, whether in Kuala Lumpur, Stuttgart, Turin, Brackley, or Brixworth, are inscribed on the body of the car,” said Mercedes’ head, Toto Wolff.

“While the journey has been challenging at times, it has also been fulfilling for us all with the World Championship title,”

“Additionally, we will feature seven Petronas green stars on the engine cover to commemorate our seventh consecutive double World Championship,”
