MERCEDES ENGINE IN 2021 WITH MORE TWENTY HORSEPOWER?

The seventh hybrid season of Formula 1 is reminiscent of the first, as the series has once again become an engine formula. Anyone with Mercedes power drives in the fron and the power unit differences are blatant again.
Since the hybrid technology, the picture changed. Suddenly, aerodynamics was no longer the key, but engine performance. Almost like in the 1960s or 20 years later in the turbo era. In 2014 the power determined the order and Mercedes was vastly superior.
Toto Wolff recently said that Mercedes is no longer working on updates for 2020. After all, the championship is as good as in.
Now rumors are circulating that Mercedes has already developed a power source for next year that can add another twenty horsepower.
The Mercedes F1 team has been dominant for years. So dominant, in fact, that halfway through the season the team can already shift its focus to the next season.
According to the latest rumors, there is even a power source on the test bench. New alloys and a new combustion chamber, among other things, should provide an extra twenty horsepower, according to the Italian branch of Motorsport.
So the summit seems anything but reached for Mercedes. This could be worrying news for Red Bull, as their engine supplier Honda is leaving Formula 1 after 2021.
Red Bull therefore wants to freeze engine development so that they may be able to continue with the Honda engines themselves from 2022.
Someone claims that we have reached the limit of the developments, but it seems that this is not the case.
Ferrari with the 2021 power unit plans to close the “hole” of power that has distinguished the 065/2 from Mercedes in this unfortunate season, but the motorists directed by Hywel Thomas (who in summer took the place of Andy Cowell) have the intention to raise the bar even higher, forcing all the other manufacturers to chase again.
The bench tests indicate an increase of another twenty or so horses against a reliability that should not be questioned except for details that can be solved in the development work.
