JOS VERSTAPPEN MAX WILL NOT SUCCEED WITH THIS CAR

Jos Verstappen believes it is time for Red Bull Racing to deliver.

After it became clear that Honda would leave Formula 1, speculation about the Dutchman’s departure increased almost immediately. Verstappen sr. stresses that the future depends on the performance of Red Bull.

“We’ll wait and see what happens”, Verstappen speaks to De Telegraaf when he is asked about the next step for his son. Jos doesn’t care about the ongoing speculation either: “We don’t have much to say to the outside world”.

Jos Verstappen, speaks candidly about the current situation at Red Bull in conversation with Formula 1 Magazine.

“What can I say? We are just too slow,” said Verstappen senior when asked about his son’s first ten races. “Look, we want to become champion, but it will not work out this year never with this car. We have no chance”, according to his fair judgement.

In 2020 Red Bull had a difficult start to the season. This is a problem that we have seen more often at the Austrian team. Verstappen sr. thinks that Red Bull now needs to get things in order: “It’s about time that Red Bull delivers a car with which you can become a champion”.

The future of the talented Dutchman is entirely in the team’s own hands, Jos suggests: “If Max has a competitive car next year, they don’t have to worry about anything”.
