“I MAY NOT ALWAYS GET IT RIGHT IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY,” HAMILTON

Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton has vowed to learn following the penalties he received at the Russian Grand Prix last Sunday, insisting he’s “only human”.
The six-time world champion was taken out of a race-winning position at Sochi after he was handed two five-second time penalties for practicing a start at the end of the pit lane and for not keeping to a constant speed at the pit exit.
Hamilton also received two penalty points as part of his punishment, however they were later rescinded and Mercedes was instead fined €25,000.
Following the race, Hamilton stated the stewards are “trying to stop me” from winning, as he edges closer to Michael Schumacher’s all-time record.
Taking to social media on Tuesday afternoon, Hamilton expressed his feelings following the weekend, stating he’s growing “every day”.
“I may not always get it right in the face of adversity,” Hamilton wrote.
“I may not always react the way you want me to when tensions are high, but I am only human after all and I am passionate about what I do.
“I’m learning and growing every day, and I’ll take my lessons and keep fighting on to the next one.
“Thank you to those of you who continue to support me and are right there fighting with me.”
F1’s Managing Director Ross Brawn urged Hamilton to “lick his wounds” after the race weekend in Russia.
Hamilton is on course to take a record-equalling seventh world championship this year, as he currently sits 44 points ahead of team-mate Valtteri Bottas in the Drivers’ Championship.
