F1 FERRARI CRISIS: HEAVY WORDS FROM VILLENEUVE

Jacques Villeneuve believes that stupid choices are being made at Ferrari. The Canadian therefore expects Mattia Binotto’s team to face a number of difficult years in Formula 1.
Jacques Villeneuve believes that Ferrari has been making the wrong choices. The old Formula 1 driver thinks that the Italian team will have a hard time in the coming years. According to the Canadian, this is due to the choices made in the past.
Villeneuve believes that the new regulations for the 2020 season will not help the team with the red car either. “The changes relate to the chassis and aerodynamics, not to the engine,” says the single world champion. Previously, Villeneuve indicated that Mercedes would continue to have a big advantage.
“Ferrari turned down many talented engineers because they did not have Italian nationality,” continues Villeneuve. “They all ended up somewhere else. Ferrari could have been as good as Mercedes.” Villeneuve expects that it may be another two years before Ferrari is back to its old level.
The 49 year old does agree that Ferrari’s current performance is not good for Formula 1. “Yes, very much so, because the problem is not the fact that they are not winning but that they are so far behind technically,” he told Sky Italia.
