EDDIE JORDAN BELIEVES VERSTAPPEN IS ABLE OF BEATING HAMILTON

Eddie Jordan is convinced that Max Verstappen could beat Lewis Hamilton if they both had the same car, and so he “asks” Red Bull and Honda to try to close the gap with Mercedes.

The star brand has dominated the hybrid era of Formula 1 with an iron fist, but Red Bull also had its days of dominance – from 2010 to 2013 – and Jordan knows they are able of making a winning car.

Jordan praises Hamilton and says he will be the best driver ever in Formula 1 at the end of the season. “Until Max gets himself sorted out and when Max gets on a roll it will be exactly the same. I don’t think Red Bull are far away. They’re extremely close, ” said Jordan.

According to Jordan Red Bull has had a lot of bad luck this year with the failure of Verstappen and a few small problems here and there. “I do believe that the Honda engine will be equal really soon of the Mercedes. I said to Adrian Newey: You have to make a better car. Because if you perform like I know Max can perform, there’s a world championship for you to have with Red Bull.”

Jordan goes even further and says he thinks Hamilton should move to Red Bull after his Mercedes adventure. “I tell you that is perfect. Because the best young driver of all of F1 is Max Verstappen. Grand Prix winners need a level of arrogance and he has that. If he had a team mate like Lewis Hamilton, I think he’s able to beat him,” the Irishman concludes.
