FIA INVESTIGATES HAMILTON SHIRT WITH POLITICAL MESSAGE

Lewis Hamilton faces FIA investigation for wearing ‘political’ shirt in honour of Breonna Taylor – an African-American woman who was fatally shot by police officers earlier this year

( Fia investigates Hamilton political )- Lewis Hamilton may be punished after wearing a shirt with a political statement. The FIA has launched an investigation into the shirt worn by Hamilton just before the start of the Tuscany Grand Prix, according to Daily Mail. It said: ‘Arrest the policemen who murdered Breonna Taylor’.

Hamilton’s shirt refers to a 26-year-old medical technician in Louisville, Kentucky, who was shot after her boyfriend opened fire on the police while searching for drugs in their home. Hamilton wore the shirt during the pre-race ceremony, where the drivers were given the opportunity to kneel and during the podium ceremony as well.

POLITICAL STATEMENTS NOT ALLOWED IN FORMULA ONE

The statutes of the FIA state that it is forbidden to make political statements in any form whatsoever. As the British medium knows, Hamilton can be fined for that. The FIA and Liberty Media have previously tried hard to work with the Mercedes driver in his fight against racism.

LEWIS GOING A LITTLE TOO FAR

Hamilton is already at the forefront of the fight against racism. Formula 1 has embraced ‘Black Lives Matter’ and also gives drivers the opportunity to draw attention to the subject by kneeling before each Grand Prix. The six-time world champion has now ‘crossed the line’.

The British medium goes on to write that some of the top Formula 1 drivers are particularly unhappy with Hamilton’s action because the investigation into Talyor’s death is still ongoing.
