HAMILTON AFTER THE RACE IT FELT LIKE FINISHING 3 RACES IN ONE DAY

Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton says he was left in a daze after taking his 90th Grand Prix victory in “three races in one day” at Mugello.

Lewis Hamilton has won the Grand Prix of Tuscany. The driver has won one of the most hectic races in years. He did it the way he has done it before this year, he completely dominated the race.

“I can’t quite remember what happened, today was a big haze,” says Hamilton at the end of the race. “It felt like finishing 3 races in one day. The track is really cool to drive on, but the focus you need made it not easy today”.

The driver had a lot of trouble keeping his teammate behind him throughout the race. Yet the Brit ended up ahead of his teammate. “The first stint wasn’t a problem for me, we were brought in because Bottas had some problems here and there”.

However, at the last restart, Hamilton had to use old tyres which the team didn’t know how long they would last. That made it difficult for Hamilton to keep Bottas behind them. “It was hard to keep that one second. I also saw Bottas get close behind me very quickly when they were saving the tyres. He was right on it today”.

BOTTAS DISAPPOINTED AFTER A VERY STRONG RACE

For Bottas, however, the race went differently. He had to settle for a second position in the end. “It’s disappointing because I really had a dream start. I was also able to hold on to my first position. But there were no more chances to stop Hamilton after the second restart”.

In the end, the Finn doesn’t know what the problem is and where he has to improve himself. “I will have to push. I have to get better, and it has to be right for me one day. So I just keep pushing. I don’t know where to improve completely. But I can win a lot in qualifying”.
