MUGELLO F1 RUMOURS FRED VASSEUR AT FERRARI

Unfortunately, Ferrari came up empty yet again, this time with Binotto at the helm. Now, some have suggested that Alfa Romeo boss Frederic Vasseur should replace Binotto.

Fred Vasseur at Ferrari – Vasseur took over as Alfa Romeo team principal in 2017. Since then, the Swiss outfit has been trying to move up the grid after a lengthy period poor performance.

With Alfa Romeo essentially being a Ferrari B team, their relationship with the Maranello squad is very close. So, it begs the question, if Ferrari decide to relieve Binotto, could Vasseur inherit the role of Ferrari team principal?

Maurizio Arrivabene finished his work with Ferrari in 2018 and Mattia Binotto has been in charge ever since. He has struggled to get to Ferrari to where they need to be and some are now suggesting that Fred Vasseur would be a better candidate.

There is a real argument that suggests that Vasseur would be a more authoritative leader at Ferrari and that he could be the man to bring success to the Italian team.

Binotto has seemingly struggled to lead during his time in charge and there have been multiple issues Ferrari SF1000 car and between Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel which would have been stamped out by a more authoritative leader.

Binotto will really need to prove himself in 2020 if he is to hold onto his job. If Ferrari don’t succeed then surely he will be out of a job and they will be forced to bring in Vasseur to get the team back to the top of the sport.
